Presidio de San Saba

A couple of weekends ago Lee and I went to Round Rock and Salado for a baby shower for Amber and Harry. On the way Google maps suggested a different route than we had ever gone before - getting off I10 not too far after Fort Stockton and then up through Iraan and Eldorado and Menard to Mason vs continuing East on I10 to Junction and through London to Mason. Lee caught a glimpse of what looked like a fort near Menard and said we should go check it out on our way back home. So we did.

First off, a butterfly. 

This is supposedly where James Bowie scratched his name, but spelled Bouie. 

I do not know the significance of these pennies, but there 

sure were a lot of them.

 

I have never had so many stickers in my shoes in my whole life!

This was a place I had never heard of before and I am sure glad Google maps suggested going that way!
